The fall season is our primary program, with over 1,437 players (fall 2009) ranging from Under-6 through Under-19 age groups. Registration for the fall program usually occurs during the Spring in March-April. To have guaranteed team placement, parents should plan to register early, otherwise your child could be placed on a wait list.
Training sessions may start as early as August first. Games may start in late August and continue on through early November depending on age group. Some teams will participate in the Area 2C Cup tournament in mid November.
Games are scheduled mostly on Saturdays, there are some week night games until daylight savings time change in early October. The majority of the games are held in the Concord and Clayton area. In age groups where registration is low (typically the U16 & U19 age groups) there may be games in nearby cities against other AYSO regions like Pleasant Hill, Martinez, American Canyon or Rio Linda.
Players needs to pre-register online at http://www.eayso.org/, the registration process is completed when Mt. Diablo Soccer receives a signed registration form and registration payment at one of our fall walk-in registration events.

Answers to frequent questions:
If you need more information please contact fall@mdsoccer.org. We do not have enough volunteers to handle inquiries via phone so email is the optimum way to reach someone with a question.
- When will I be contacted? Coaches may receive team rosters by mid July and should be contacting you beginning that time. Many coaches may still be on vacation so it is not uncommon to be contacted much later in July. We strongly encourage all coaches to contact all players on their rosters by end of July or to let their Division Coordinator (DC) know that they are still out of town, in which case the DC may contact families on the rosters to put minds at ease.
- When will training sessions begin? This is up to the coach. They may begin as early as the 1st of August with a parent meeting followed by a training session. If the coach is getting back from vacation, they may elect to start training sessions later – please be patient with our volunteer coaches.
- What if the training session date and time is not convenient? [Easy answer: become a coach next season!] It is very common at the first team meeting for parents to have a discussion either during the meeting, before, or after, in which they indicate a need for transportation help. It is almost always the case that arrangements can be made with parents of other children on the team to get a child to or from a training session.
- When is picture day? Picture Day is scheduled for Sunday September 12, 2010.
- Any other changes? Mt. Diablo Soccer is fully compliant with AYSO National guidelines related to players on the field by age group see: Short-sided games (pdf)
- AYSO National's official short-sided games are in effect for U6, U7-U8, U10, and U12 divisions.
- U6 will play 3v3 no keepers - 10 max on a roster
- U7/U8 will play 5v5 no keepers - 7 max on a roster
- U10 will play 7v7 with keepers - 10 max on a roster
- U12 will play 9v9 with keepers - 12 max on a roster
- U10 through U19 Divisions, although no standings are kept throughout the season, there will be an end of season tournament and the plan is to include as many teams as possible.
Fall Pre-Registration: To pre-register, please go to http://www.eayso.org.. Specific details on our registration process can be found on our Registration page.
The Fall 2010 registration fees are:
The Registration fee for the 2010 Fall season is $110. A late registration fee of $20 to be added for a total of $130 for those who register after our final registration event on May 25th, 2010.
Some of the major reasons why the registration fee for Mt. Diablo Soccer was raised this fall are:
- Anticipated increase in fees for using city fields largely due to city budget reductions.
- Planned increase in volunteer training development. Training volunteer coaches and referees is a direct way to improve the quality of the experience for the children throughout the organization.
Additionally, it is the preference of the Mt. Diablo Soccer Board of Directors to not impose on our member families in the region mandatory fundraisers or raffle sales to supplement operational budget needs.
We also offer scholarships to qualified families to help ensure that no child misses out on the experience of playing soccer because they cannot afford it. We strongly believe that playing soccer is a life experience every child should enjoy! Therefore, families that are are below the fifty percent median family income level as determined by HUD may apply for a partial or full scholarship.
Finally, the Board of Directors feel that Mt. Diablo Soccer provides a healthy, nurturing environment for all children in our community. The fall season runs for twelve weeks all families are getting a great value for the registration fee.

Important Dates
Please see the following dates for important information:
- 5/25/2010 - Guaranteed Team Placement registration deadline
- 5/26/2010 - Registration forms received from this date on will be placed on a Waiting List for the player's age division, and then placed only as openings become available. Incoming forms are date stamped and then placed in priority of receipt date.
- Depends on age group - First fall season game.
For Refund cut-off dates and procedures, please see our Registration page under Refund Policy.
Reasons for not hearing from a coach immediately could be a result of the coach(es) being on vacation, OR, we are lacking coach volunteers for your child's division, resulting in a "coachless" team, whereby we would need a parent volunteer from that team to step up and become a coach. If the last scenario was to happen, each parent would be notified by the respecive Coach Administrator of this situation.
