When soccer and golf collide, where Tiger Woods meets Lionel Messi, introducing FootGolf and where you can play in the Bay Area.

Did you know you could enjoy a relaxing 18 holes on a lush green golf course without the need to carry or push a set of golf clubs with you?  Somewhere you could take your entire soccer team no matter how old they are?

The MDSA Storm B2009 team recently visited Las Positas Golf Course in Livermore to try out FootGolf, and they were all immediately fans of the game.

FootGolf utilizes existing golf courses, in the case of Las Positas it is their 9 hole par 3 course.  Instead of a golf ball players use a soccer ball.  Instead of golf clubs players use their foot.  Obviously.

Holes at Las Positas range from a 65 yards par 3 to a monster 197 yard par 5 final hole.

Players tee-off (or kick-off) from the same tees the regular golfers use, they use the same fairways but split away to a separate FootGolf green to the regular golf green.  All regular golf hazards are in play, so be ready to hack soccer balls from the rough or chip them from sand bunkers.  There’s even a water hazard on one hole.
