Congratulations to Croatia, led by coaches Joanna Murphey and Brandon Herrera, who won the B10U World Cup. The B10U division was the largest of all divisions with 15 teams starting the tournament.
After winning all three games at the group stage Croatia met Netherlands, coached by Courtney Wade and Geoff Scheib, in a thrilling final. The scores were tied 1-1 at half time but Croatia pulled away with 3 late goals to lift the World Cup trophy.
Netherlands had reached the final after featuring in the game of the tournament when defeating the previously unbeaten Portugal, coached by Peter Rafferty and Kevin Mizuno, 5-4 after extra time.
In the 3rd/4th place play off Portugal beat Switzerland, coached by Michael Steele and Bradley Alexander. After battling through Group B Switzerland provided the shock of the quarter finals as they beat Morocco 3-1 after Morocco had won all of the their group stage games.
Croatia and Netherlands both progress to the Area Cup in two weeks time. Good luck!
