The AYSO Area2C Alliance Program (previously known as the Select Program) offers enthusiastic and motivated 10U-16U players the opportunity to improve their skills in a more competitive environment. Alliance is the AYSO Player Pathway level between Recreational and Club Programs.

Players are selected based on skill and potential through tryouts, but can expect a lower level of competitive play and time commitment than at the full Club level.

How Does it Work?

Tryouts: Players are selected based on skill and potential through tryouts held twice a year: once for the Fall season and once for the Spring season.

Team Formation: After tryouts, teams are formed and players are placed in divisions based on their age and skill level.

Training and Games: Teams practice regularly and compete in league matches and tournaments.

Commitment: Alliance requires a higher level of commitment from both players and parents, including regular attendance at practices and games.

Why Join Alliance?

Skill Development: Enhance your soccer skills through expert coaching and challenging matches.

Increased Competition: Experience a higher level of competition and test your abilities against other talented players.

Teamwork and Sportsmanship: Learn the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship, and fair play.

Fun and Friendship: Make new friends and create lasting memories while having fun on the soccer field.

Alliance consists of two seasons and teams are formed twice a year: Fall and Spring.

For Fall: players are chosen, teams formed and announced in June. Training sessions typically start mid-July. The Alliance program game schedule runs from August through October, and all teams will choose to play in a number of tournaments that typically end in October.

For Spring: players are chosen and teams formed in November. Training sessions start in December. The Alliance program game schedule runs from February through April, and all teams will choose to play in a number of tournaments that end typically in May, depending on the team’s chosen schedule.

Fees

The Fall 2024 Alliance Program Fee will be $450, which includes, among other costs, the AYSO Alliance fee, field rentals, referee fees and the Alliance and League fees. Additionally, families will need to purchase uniforms, and contribute to team funds for tournaments and other incidental expenses. Players are expected to participate in several tournaments, each tournament entry costs between $45-60 per player.

PARTICIPATION
All players (10U and up) are encouraged to apply and try-out. Players do not have to have played in a core AYSO Fall program to play in the Alliance program.

The number of teams formed in each division varies from year to year depending upon the number of players trying out and the number of certified coaches available to coach. Alliance teams travel more than fall teams, as they could play teams from Davis, , Winters and Antelope.

A higher level of commitment is expected from both the players AND the parents. Alliance is for enthusiastic and motivated players, for the purposes of player development. The player is expected to regularly attend training sessions and games. Parents are also expected to participate in league organization, particularly in the running of the Concord Cup (mid May) to which Concord AYSO is a Host.
